Now, HP has released a new notebooks under EliteBook brand, which is called EliteBook 8440p. With a 14-inch screen and starting weight of 4.7 pounds, the EliteBook 8440p makes no pretension of ultra-portability, but manages to carry down many features from much larger notebooks. The HP EliteBook 8440p is a mobile notebook which designed for professional users who needing manageability, security, upgradeable wireless, enhanced system and graphics performance in a business-rugged notebook with a 14.0-inch diagonal display.
EliteBook 8440p notebook came equipped with the Intel Core i7-620M Processor (2.66 GHz, 4 MB L3 cache) CPU, the Intel Mobile Intel QM57 Express chipset, I assume 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 SDRAM although the score didn’t seem like 1333MHz memory, 320 GB 7200 rpm SATA II hard drive, 14.0-inch diagonal LED-backlit HD+ anti-glare screen, NVIDIA NVS 3100 graphics with 512 MB dedicated gDDR3 video memory, 6 cell battery and weighing in at about 6 pounds.
The HP EliteBook 8440p Notebook PC features a brushed-aluminum platinum finish and business-rugged construction to protect your notebook on the go. A magnesium/aluminum display enclosure and magnesium alloy chassis provides increased durability. The top LCD panel is brushed metal and looks very professional. The bottom of the EliteBook is a combination of plastic and metal and feels very solid. The HP 8440p includes both a traditional trackpad and the less popular “pointing nub” buried in the center of the keyboard.
